Engineering excellence in brake E-Actuator development

An automotive brake system manufacturer partnered with Durkopp during the development of a new-generation brake e-actuator. From the outset, Durkopp’s engineering team played a key role—not only in supplying high-performance bearings, but in co-developing a system, a higly robust and efficient bearing and a comprehensive Design Verification Plan (DVP) for the entire actuator unit.

Leveraging our simulation and digital twin capabilities, we analyzed the full system under various load and operating conditions. This holistic approach provided the customer with valuable insights into the behavior of the complete assembly, helping to optimize performance, reliability, and integration.

For this case, Durkopp developed a customized bearing solution with significantly higher load capacity than competing products—allowing the customer to maintain a compact and lightweight design without compromising durability. The result was a highly efficient, space-saving actuator system that exceeded expectations and reinforced Durkopp’s role as a trusted development partner.
